The Eight-Day is equipped with a highly efficient double barrel to store the long power reserve displayed on the dial at 12 o'clock, the date display and the small seconds display at 6 o'clock. The latter feature echoes those in marine chronometers made when British watchmaking played a pivotal role in maritime navigation in the 18th century and Arnold & Son was the British Royal Navy's preferred suppliers.
