Frederique Constant Runabout Chronograph Automatics
Horology, a child of astronomy. And no moment is more precious than the fine summer nights, warm and perfectly clear, on the water’s edge, to observe the starry sky. Perfect timing for the two new Runabout Chronograph Automatics, adorned with a blue dial, complementing this emblematic Frederique Constant collection.
The marine world
Navy or marine blue, is the name of this deep blue hue that adorns the new dials of the Runabout Chronograph Automatic. Marine, like this call from the ocean that recalls the original partnership between Frederique Constant and the RHS (Riva Historical Society), this association of amateurs and collectors of the famous Italian boat, an ode to the dolce vita, elegance and chic sport. It was from this union that the collection was born, created in 2009 and since then, only offered in limited series.
Blue, is the choice of Frederique Constant for these two new models, each in a limited edition of only 888 pieces. Blue of the Mediterranean, the Adriatic, blue of the sky and space: the Runabout Chronograph Automatic is an invitation to travel, to have your feet in the water and your head in the stars.
BREITLING’S HERITAGE, REVIVED
Inspired by the inventive spirit of Breitling’s founders, the new Premier Heritage Collection is for the modern and discerning man of impeccable taste. These exquisite timepieces are the brand’s most elegant and refined.
“This heritage-inspired design with a stylish modern twist embodies some of Breitling’s most famous innovations, and revives Breitling’s legacy of inventing the modern chronograph. This truly is our heritage revived,” says Georges Kern of Breitling’s timelessly elegant new collection.
The Premier Heritage Collection pays homage to Breitling’s very own Founders Squad: three generations of men who changed the history of timekeeping and made Breitling what it is today. Léon Breitling founded the company in 1884; later, he patented a simple timer/tachymeter that could measure any speed between 15 and 150 km/h, an invention featured in the 1906 Vitesse pocket watch.
In 1915, his son, Gaston, created one of the first wrist-worn chronographs with an independent pusher at 2 o’clock. This innovation separated the start, stop, and reset functions from the crown, making it infinitely more practical for timing sports.
In 1934, Léon’s grandson, Willy, patented the second independent chronograph pusher at 4 o’clock. Among Willy Breitling’s celebrated pioneering achievements was the establishment of the Huit Aviation Department in 1938.
A LEGENDARY TIMEPIECE FOR THE COSMOPOLITAN WOMAN
Breitling is proud to present the elegant 35 millimeter Navitimer Automatic, designed for women of style, action, and purpose. Reflecting more than 65 years of history, the modern take on the Navitimer Automatic 35 has a distinctly sophisticated personality inspired by some of the most impressive Breitlings of the 1950s. Women who wear the Navitimer Automatic 35 will be wearing a timepiece that not only reflects their unique stylish flair, but also carries onone of watchmaking’s greatest traditions.
The Breitling Navitimer Automatic 35 is the ultimate statement of elegance and the perfect accessory for any occasion, whether it’s a meeting in the boardroom or a weekend getaway. With a choice of colorful dials, a mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds, and alligator leather straps, these stunning new models have been designed for the cosmopolitan, stylish woman on the go. With a high-performance mechanical movement at its heart and iconic design elements, the Breitling Navitimer Automatic 35 writes a new chapter in the history of this collection.
The Navitimer Automatic 35 takes the design inspiration for its striking, sophisticated beaded bezel from the Navitimer Ref. 806. The clean three-hand dial is an affectionate nod to the Ref. 66, which was launched in the 1950s, and its iconic circular slide rule holds a special place in the hearts of Breitling enthusiasts everywhere. The red-tipped second hand contributes to the watch’s excellent legibility.
Breitling CEO Georges Kern is enthusiastic about the new release: “With the Navitimer Automatic 35, we have created a watch that reflects what women have been telling us: They’ve asked for a stylish, smaller Navitimer that doesn’t sacrifice heritage or functionality. It needed to be recreated just for women and suitable for any occasion. With different cases and strap options, we’ve introduced exactly what modern women look for in a watch, even those who may not have previously considered wearing a Breitling.”
